What's My Dog?

Have you ever looked at your mixed-breed dog and wondered exactly what breeds are represented? Now you can find out! Mars Veterinary Company has developed a blood test that genetically analyzes a sample of blood from your dog. The Wisdom Panel MX test detects specific combinations of genetic markers to help reveal the breed heritage of your dog.

The information provided in your dog’s breed analysis can do more than satisfy your curiosity. It can provide insights to potential predispositions to physical and behavioral traits of breed identified in your dog. You can talk with one of our doctors about how to best care for and interact with your pet.

The price of this test is $120.00. For more information, call us or visit www.whatsmydog.com

What's For Dinner?

In an effort to deliver the best medical care possible, our doctors and staff participate in regular continuing education to learn and evaluate new medical procedures and products for pets with specific health conditions. Therapeutic or prescription diets can play an important part in the management and prevention of some diseases in dogs and cats.

It has become apparent over the last few years that a change has taken place in the area of therapeutic diets. The Purina Veterinary Diets have proven themselves to be more effective, palatable, and more cost-efficient than the other therapeutic diets.

We have decided to recommend Purina Veterinary Diets in place of many of the Iams and Hills products. If you are currently feeding your pet a prescription diet, ask us about the appropriate diet for your pet. All of the Purina diets have a “money back” guarantee. If your pet doesn’t like it, bring the bag back to us for a refund.

Before!

Exciting news! As you are undoubtedly aware, we are bursting at the seams. The building across the street, the former Achievement Center for Children, recently went up for sale. Dr. Barney took a look and decided that would be our future new hospital. The building is nearly 3 times as large as our current Lakewood Animal Hospital. We’ll have more exam rooms and separate entrances and kennels for cats and dogs. We’re still formulating our ideas, so if you have any suggestions, call us! We hope to move over to the new building at 14587 Madison Avenue in the fall of 2008. Keep checking here for updates.
